When more explanation matters

A second perspective without another rushed appointment.

You may already have a diagnosis, results, specialist advice or a treatment plan. What you may not have is enough time to understand how the pieces fit together. This service is built for that gap.

Second Perspective

Make sense of a diagnosis

Review an existing diagnosis or recommendation and understand the terminology, reasoning, uncertainties and questions worth taking back to your treating team.

Results

Understand tests & reports

Discuss bloodwork, imaging reports, specialist letters, hospital discharge information and other existing medical information in plain language.

Strategy

Connect the dots

Organize multiple conditions, medications, family history, risk factors and health goals into a more coherent picture and a practical discussion plan.

Family

Support someone you love

Prepare for conversations about a parent, partner or child's health information, subject to appropriate consent and privacy requirements.

Preparation

Use your next appointment better

Identify the most important questions to ask your family physician or specialist and clarify which issues deserve priority.

Prevention

Think beyond today

Discuss general health education, prevention, longevity, lifestyle considerations and health priorities in the context of the information you already have.

The process

Come prepared. Leave clearer.

The session is structured around your questions — not a generic checklist. You decide what information matters most, and the physician has protected time to help you understand it.

Bring what matters.
Existing reports, results, medication list, diagnoses and your questions.
Private physician discussion.
Focused, unrushed time for explanation, context and general guidance.
Leave with direction.
A clearer understanding and better questions for your healthcare team.

Dr. Janine Karpakis
Physician experience

Time with a doctor who has spent decades listening, explaining and caring.

Dr. Janine Karpakis is a licensed physician with approximately 32 years of experience. PEIDoctor describes her as having completed 11 years of medical training and postgraduate education and having practiced medicine across three continents.

This service is designed around something deceptively simple: enough dedicated time to hear the whole question and explain the medical information in language you can use.

"Sometimes the most valuable thing in healthcare is enough time to understand."— Our philosophy

Two ways to use the service

Clarity now. Strategy for what follows.

Some clients arrive with one urgent question. Others bring years of records, multiple diagnoses and a feeling that nobody has had time to look at the whole picture.

Second Opinion / Explanation

"Help me understand this."

Best when you already have a result, diagnosis, report or recommendation and want an experienced physician to help explain it and identify useful questions.

Health Strategy

"Help me see the whole picture."

Best when you have multiple concerns, chronic issues, health goals or a longer history and want to organize the information into priorities and a forward-looking discussion plan.

Frequently asked

Know exactly what you are booking.

Is this a replacement for my family doctor or specialist?

No. The service is intended to add time for education, explanation and health-information discussion. It does not replace ongoing primary care, specialist care, hospital care, emergency care or other publicly insured services.

Can I get a prescription or new treatment through this service?

For Canadian residents using this educational service, do not book expecting a prescription, new diagnosis, clinical assessment or initiation of treatment. Any clinical care remains subject to the independent physician's professional judgment, applicable licensing rules and the publicly funded system where required.

What should I bring?

Bring the documents and questions most relevant to what you want to understand: reports, results, medication lists, discharge summaries, diagnoses, family history and your own list of concerns. Do not email sensitive records to a general email address; use the secure upload process provided.

Can a family member join?

Often yes, when appropriate. Consent and privacy rules apply, particularly when discussing another adult's personal health information or a youth's information.

Is the service confidential?

Yes. EndWell's administrative handling and independent physicians' clinical information responsibilities are governed by applicable privacy and professional obligations. Please read the Privacy Policy for a detailed explanation of roles, service providers, retention and your rights.

Is this an emergency service?

No. If you may be experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department.

More time. Better questions. A clearer health strategy.
